With mine, the water gathered in the recess behind the heads covering the connectors and led to it cutting out. I cable tied the leads up and soaked it in WD40.

In really heavy rain to and from Italy last year I had a further problem where the coils were getting wet. These are located under the tank and may well be your problem.

Speak to the service department at Norton and Mark should bear able to help you.
