I have tried using the NOC messaging system. There must be something I have missed, because when someone replies to me using it, the link sent to my email just takes me to the person's name, but I simply can not receive their message.

I tried your suggestion
and got the same result. It tells me only that you have been a NOC member for 8 years and 8 months... I do not get your message, either on the Forum, or in the email telling me to go and look for it.. This result is the same on my PC with Linux operating system, and a Mac laptop.

I'm sure in earlier times we were given sender's email address and could use that. The link Https etc. Just tells me I'm not authorized to go there. And my 'reply' goes to info@norton......
Seems odd. Probably me being stupid.

You are certainly not stupid! I have a similar problem with all my 'tech stuff '....my solution is to ask my children/ grandchildren to show me how to perform any computer related task SLOWLY so hopefully I can learn for next time!
