Can anyone tell me where I can get a sealed bearing for the high gear pinion on a laydown box? and part no if poss please. I'm trying to keep the oil in the gearbox!

Thanks for your reply Charles but that is the same as the one I have; it is shielded but not sealed and still leaks oil. I'm after a propper sealed bearing. Cheers, Ian.

Doesn't oil come through he sleeve more easily than through a bearing seal? There's no way to seal the sleeve gear properly as far as I can see. There's supposed to be a big fat felt washer - but once that's saturated there's no other proper seal - is there?

I bought my bearings from…
I bought my bearings from Andover Norton, sealed on one side. Tell them what you want and they'll get it for you. Nick and everyone there are very helpful.

RacingNorton list such a bearing on their website at £28.00. It is best to remove the inner facing seal in order to allow gear oil into the bearing. Alternatively, measure the ID and OD and width of the bearing and go to your local bearing supplier and ask for a sealed ball race. This is probably cheaper but is more of a hassle
