I have a folding KS on my 99 ,its from a later period and is probably a Genuine Norton. I'm trying to identify the bolt thread to obtain one long enough to reach all the threads. It appears to be 3/8th UNF, is that likely?.My stuff is all proper NORTON Bracebridge St BSF,BSC,Whitworth etc.

3/8 BSF is 20 TPI, 3/8 UNF is 24 TPI.

It should be 3/8 BSF.

Looks like it must be a pattern one, definately not BSF and a 11/2" bolt is a quarter inch too short.Ho Hum,back to the layshaft which has about an 8th of an inch end float,I'm not at all convinced to shim this from the cover end .
