Jubilee electrics

Forums

Does anyone know if there is a replacement kit for the bottom electrics. If I was to convert to 12

volt do I get a replacement in the kits available. Good news my brake lever is now the correct shape. Cheers kelvin

I'm not sure what "Bottom electrics" are. If you mean the alternator rotor and stator, if the ones you have work, they will generate enough electricity for a 12 volt system.

Hi Colin, yes it's the alternator. The wires were baked hard, so I have just treated them to a session with the soldering iron. Hopefully they should work okay now.

Cheers kelvin.

Jubilee to 12V-yes the Wipac stator (and rotor) are up to this. You have to make it a two wire alternator first, then remove the alternator switching wires from the light switch. You then either fit the bike with a Zener diode but make sure you have a decent rectifier (not that big old pale green thing) the traditional black Lucas is ok while a modern encapsulated one is best. Or you can move over to the modern regulator/rectifier. Battery, bulbs and horn are obviously.

But do not retain those nasty points! At this point you should fit a Boyer Bransden electronic or even a Pazon. Both use 2 off 6V coils which of course you already have. The good ol' Wipac coils seem to go on forever and their side HT exit suits their mounting under the tank.

Go for it.
