Jubilee centre stand

Forums

Hi there.

I recently bought a 1961 Norton Jubilee. Mostly original but not all and I am sure it is the wrong centre stand. When on the main stand the front wheel is almost two inches clear of the ground and it is very difficult to get on and off the stand. I have looked at lots of pictures and the front wheels look on the ground with the back wheels clear. Can anyone help, thankyou, Colin.

Hello Colin, i have a Jubilee (De-Luxe) i am restoring at the moment, i can take a few measurments for you if you want of the stand or other parts, i have just had a look at mine and the rear wheel is off the ground when its on the stand, i see the correct stands are available from the spares scheme.

Cheers Kelvin.

Hi thankyou for your reply. I am new to the club and not very computer literate. I thought I would put in a post and see what info I needed to provide. Cheers, Colin.

Hi Kelvin. I am new to the club and not very good with computers. I have had a look but I did not see the stand I need. Could you point me in the right direction. Your help is much appreciated. Thankyou, Colin.

Hello Colin, if you go into the NOCshop at the top of the page, then scroll down spares, thengo to thelightweight sectio. Then the next list theres a section of miscellaneous, scroll down and the centre stand is listed, ther is no picture and its £70, befor you order one i would check the measurment of the one fitted on yours, i will measure me stand tommorow and post the length.

Cheers Kelvin.

Hi Kelvin. Many thanks for your help. I had a look and found it. I was going to email Andy Sochanik about some bits and pieces. I look forward to hearing from you, cheers, Colin.

Hello All.

I am new to the club and wondered if anyone can help me to find a side stand for my Jubilee Delux which i am restoring for my wife.i"m sure other owners know they are not the easiest to get onto the main stand so a side stand would be the answer. i also have a 99Delux which is much easier to put on its stand. Thanks, Alan.

Hi there thankyou for your help. Through this advert I have been gven a stand which I wa told is the correct stand. Andy Sochanik kindly posted a picture of the stand spring bracket but can someone tell me where the spring fits on the stand itself, thankyou, Colin.

hi Colin,

The centre stand has it's two legs and a 'crossbar'. The correct spring simply hooks around the crossbar - there are no seperate locating lugs that I know off and I do have four lightweights, all with genuine working centre stands. All my bikes are the early types and you do need the correct spring - the 'universal' type of spring never fits properly on the crossbar and can come off. And that is a worrying experience when you hear the stand trailing on the road !!.

Well I would just like to say thankyou to everyone who took the time to help me here. I now have no excuses but get my finger out and get the bike restored, cheers, Colin.
