I'm researching the history of a 1946 Manx which it would appear was allocated to J Purnell via Ron Harris of Maidenhead and I'd like to know more about him if anyone has any information. The IOMTT website lists him as having raced there 1946-49 but I expect he'd have raced elsewhere too.

I'm hoping to find some of the old TT Special newspaper articles and similarly for the Manx Grand Prix, such that I can try to glean snippets here and there about who JEC Purnell was.
Does anyone have any of the old Isle of Man race programmes from the late 40s and early 50s, either Manx Grand Prix or TT? Would they mind a browse through to see if mention can be found of JEC Purnell?
