Electra clutch

I am looking for a shock absorber centre 048187 together with the retaining nut 24570 and locking washer 24629 unfortunately the noc spares do not have these items, if any member has a spare centre they are willing to sell please contact me . thanks trevor veale

Hi Trevor,

I noticed this posting from a while ago. Did you manage to find the 048187? I'm trying to rebuild an Electra from a 'basket case' and realise i must have an earlier clutch as the splines are smaller. Do you know if the 048187 is used in any other model?

I have some of those clutch's as complete units as well as just the chain wheel and the centres,as I bought some Navigator and Electra ones a few years back in the mistaken belief that they were the same as the Norton unit construction twin one, but it was not. I do have the clutches with the twin chain wheel for the light weight twins. I think I have 3 or 4 of them, if they are the same as the Electra ones.

Hi Anthony

I would be interested in a clutch centre I wonder if you give me some indication of the size and pics. I have tried some from the club but they were different spline sizes and not suitable for the e Electra. I am currently prep the electra to take to the mc piston rally next week so I will not be accessing the net for the next two weeks

Could you measure across the spline on the clutch centre and let me know the size for narrow and wider part of the spline. if it fits the Electra I'd like to buy on off you if that's possible. Thanks, Maurice
