Hi Billy- I would recommend Main-Smith reprints of the workshop manual and spares list for your model. They are very inexpensive and contain many exploded drawings . Good luck on your project -I've just completed my ES 2 and it is well worth the effort- Regards, Richard

I bought a copy of the WD 16H manual from an eBay trader. I no longer have the trader contact details. This is very comprehensive and I think I have seen it listed again since. I suggest you put a saved search in eBay for "Norton 16H" and it will probably reappear. It came as an A5 sized booklet, nicely bound in thick, clear, plastic covers. I have found the original scan and/or print resolution to be a bit low. For my eyesight I have scanned in all the exploded diagrams and reprinted them on A4 paper. They are then a bit fuzzy and the part indexing numbers not clear. However, I can certainly identify all parts and the text in the rest of the manual gives blow-by-blow description of every possible maintenance task. An essential manual for a 16H owner.

Hi William
The book you really want is Air Publication No. 1726 Vol 1, Part 2 - Book No. 101/NC.3.A.
This book details all you would ever need to know about the WD16H, which really covers from 1934 to 1938 as far a most things go.
It is an 'A4' sized book of some 68 pages, so diagrams are clear and very explicit, the info on the dolls head gearbox is extremely popular, it even fully details the tool kit.
The only noticable difference with the 1938 to 1940 version of the 16H is the change to the Valve/tappet arrangement.
The main difference with a civilian version would be the engine sprocket/gear ratios.
I purchased mine on eBay some 4 years ago and it was worth all of the £18 it cost me.

Although I haven't looked specifically I've just bought a parts list for the 1955 19S from the NOC shop. That has some diagrams in it.
For specific jobs, Chris Streather might be able to help.
Try Amazon: I've just bought an old service book from them which has lots of diagrams in it.
Hope this helps.

Seems to be identical to what I got from eBay for about £12
