I'm in the process of a complete rebuild of a 1972 commando roadster combat. It is now close to finished but I can't seem to find any information on fitting a chain slider to the swing arm on the primary side. None of the parts lists I've looked at show this part.
Was one fitted at the factory? I made one that fits and is retained by the front chain guard bolt. Is this a good idea or should it be left off?
Thanks very much, and in a few more weeks another commando will be on the road!

There was no slider fitted. If the chain is adjusted correctly it won't hit anything.
