Hi
The time has come when I cannot put off replacing the original Bowden throttle and air cables on my 1927 16H.
This bike is very original as the only other replacement parts are the tyres and a 1940's spark plug, so it is important to source as near to the original as possible.
Can anyone recommend a suitable supplier.
TIA

As far as I know, there are no suppliers with stocks of cloth-covered cable (although JJ Cables did have some with a green woven coating which could possibly be re-finished in black).
I've been in this situation too as to my mind vinyl covered cables stand out a mile on pre-war bikes. The only solution I found is to look for odd cables at jumbles and be prepared to make up your own.
There are for instance sometimes NOS air and A/R cables to be found in War Department packaging. It doesn't matter if it says BSA or Matchless on the box if you're only going to use the outer on a newly made cable.
