88 fork stanchion size?

Forums

I have badly rusted fork stanchions in a collection of parts that i am trying to turn into a motorbike. The stanchions i have are 1.359" (1 23/64") diameter by 21 13/16" long. Are these dimensions correct for a 1959 88 dominator,if so can anybody tell me the official part number and any recommendations pleasefor the best place to buy these from.

Andy, you can't really go wrong with buying stations and you have the choice of genuine of pattern. To be honest, I have never had a problem with pattern and they are about £20 cheaper.

The sizes you can ask for are Manx, short roadholder, Long Roadholder and Commando. A F/bed framed Norton and that includes your 59 Dommie will require stantions for short roadholders.

I could give you the part number for the genuine stanchions but you may wish to consider saving money and buying pattern ones? Your choice.

You might be able to buy them from NOC spares, although that would be pointless when they are stocked by Andover Norton, RGM, Mick Hemmings, Norville etc. Just ask for short roadholder stanchions.
