20” Inner Tubes

Forums

Any one out there know of a source for Inter rear tyres and tubes(20”) I’m looking for a couple of 3.50/4.00-20 tubes and can’t find any through the usual sources.

Hi Paul,

Avon tyres make an excellent 3.50 x 20" period style triple stud rear tyre in a modern compound, which has a speed rating of over 100mph. When off the rim this tyre looks to have a very square profile, but once fitted to a WM2 rim it is a reasonable shape and suitable for solo road use. The down side to this is the cost being around £110+. I haven't seen new 20" tubes for many years and my best choice is a 3.00 x 21" as the external circumference is similar to the inner face of the Avon tyre and it is better to expand a smaller section tube than cram in one that is too baggy.

Try Vintage Tyres situated at the Beaulieu Museum.

Rear tyre on my Plunger Inter runs a 19" tube.  Never been a problem...

Cheers
