What oil do I use for the gear box? Engine oil specs? I have included a small metal piece that I believe fits under the rear mudguard extension. Am I correct?
I assume we are talking about a WD model or there abouts....1937 on.
The rear mudguard attachment is to aid wheel rermoval etc. Correct.
I use EP 140 of the classic variety in the G/ box, but a melting grease can also be used IMHO.
Mineral SAE 50 in the engine. I use Castrol GP 50. Mineral oil of course.
The WD handbook suggests SAE 50 in the engine / G/box and primary... Simplification on active service.. I would use something thinner in the primary BUT stay away from synthetic or you will have clutch slip.
