Top bevel casting dimensions

Forums

Would anyone have for sale, or have one to measure up - a top bevel casting for an 30's OHC? All the best and thanks. PS Drawings would be just as good!

I have 1932 and 1938 upper bevel housings. What do you want measured? (In case you ask, I do intend to build a motor out of the bits I have.)Paul Standeven

All of it! I did look at the other Paul's site and I have spent farrrrr tooooooo much money there but I found another inter engine missing a few bits but with a lovely bronze head. I would like to get it up a running and ready slowly but think £290 for a new one is a bit salty for my pocket at the moment so would like a go at CNC'ing one! I can get most of the dimensions from my engine but as its all together I dont want to break it down to measure all the dimensions. Realy its teh hidden dims ie internal and height of projection that goes into the cambox. Thanks for any and all help you can give me. PS I have one or two engine spares are you after anything in particular?

I have a bevel chamber in my hand.

Using the mounting face as datum:

Nose is 1 1/2" diameter, 7/16" tall. Bush flange is 1 7/16" diamter. Cross drilled with 1/8" before facing off flange to 1/8" thickness

There are two oil-drain drillings to bypass the bevel bush, centre on edge of the bevel support nose, 3/16" diameter

Mounting flange is 1/4" thick, 2 3/4" x 2"

Mounting studs 5/16" diameter

2 9/16" to top face (for vertical shaft tube nut)

Chamber is 2" diameter at vertical shaft nut

internal landing for the Hoffman self aligning bearing (or EE6 if you are sensible) 1" below top face

bevel shaft bush 1 3/4" from top face

I hope that's enough... Paul
