Hi ,Can anybody help me please? I have a Mk. 1 961 that originally ran very poorly at low rpm , I had a power commander fitted ( a BMW 900 twin -same firing order as Norton) it has been running as the bike should have until last week when I got caught in a traffic jam and the bike got overheated and very unhappy. The bike will now not run cleanly at low revs or on constant throttle but will run perfectly when under load .
Thanks for any support. regards Keith

Which head temp sender do you currently have, the old brass body one, or the later stainless steel one?

Hi Mike, …
Hi Mike,
First off thanks for the advice - I changed the plugs ,put a new air filter in (although it did not need it ) gave the bike a good blast down the motorway and it would appear to have cleared it..
Thanks keith

If the bike will run perfectly under load but not at low revs, I would do the following in order:
1. change plugs ( they might have gotten sooted up )
2. clean carb idle circuits
3. Check/clean air filter
Maybe someone else can suggest another method to try.
Let us know what you find is the cause
Good Luck
Mike
