1930 Big 4 - Valve Cover Knurled Thumb Screw

Forums

I took my bike for a spin the other day and after a few miles heard a clattering noise on the road as something fell off!  It turned out to be the valve cover.  I found it in the gutter and luckily it is more or less intact.  I couldn't find the knurled thumbscrew however which fixes the cover to the motor.  I've searched the spares list and emailed the spares admin person but wondered if anyone out these has a handle on where I can purchase a replacement?

If you will give me the part number of the "valve cover knurled thumb screw" you are looking for I will check my local sources here in California.

Thanks Mike.  I've found the part in two parts books for Norton's Subsequent to 1933 and 1931.  Mine is a 1930.  In both books it's described as the 'Valve Cover Knurled Nut' and the part number in both books is 9055.  Any help you can provide greatly appreciated.

It's not actually the part but it would fit.  Part number 9055 is a one piece thumb screw whereas the part you and I found on that website in Australia is a two piece item and if you read the description it says it could be used to replace part number 9055.  Also, it being in Australia the postage was more than the item.  I'm still searching for the correct part, closer to home (UK).
