Hi all - I am tidying up a running 1936 Model 50, and I noticed two plastic tubes coming from the rocker box down to the valve stems. The exhaust side plastic tube being more heated is partially melted! I'd like to replace both with something better but can I simply use rubber tubing? What would have been on the original? Any suggestions most welcome! Ramon.

I will look at getting some copper tubing - I presume some micro-central heating type tubing would do - and until then I will try some rubber petrol tubing and see if it holds!

A good source
Of small bore copper tubing is model making shops. Often in lengths of 300mm, rrather than having to buy 1m or 2m long rolls of the stuff. Worked for me when I needed a short length for my fuel tap.

Hello I have a similar machine, this has small (1/8"] copper pipes with compression fittings on the rocker box, and into holes directly in the cylinder head and through to the valve guides. This allows oil from the rocker box to the valve stems.
