dominator 600 barrel

Probably helpful to confirm that you have a dynamo or alternator  . Should be dynamo barrel, but after so many years things change.

Aren't we nearly all looking for barrels for a 600cc Dommi? :-)

 I understand that Norvil have some new pattern 600/650 barrels now ready for sale. A bit pricey when compared to a reline. And untested? as yet.  It was originally thought that the casting would be capable of being worked to make 500 cc barrels ,but I don't think it was possible. All the more important that unnecessary rebores are not done . 

When I rebuilt my 99 the reborers told me that the bores were not going to clean up perfectly at +10.  I disagreed  and insisted on +10.   After honing some shadowing was visible. The bike has been fine and has as much compression as I can cope with and goes very well. I can now have a problem and still have at least 2 more rebores if needed .

I have just bought a set of barrels  off a guy on facebook in the Dominator group. He has another set of barrels for sale. If you want to contact him I can get a number for you.

The set I bought I took to an engine reborer for him to check and he said they where good.

Norville are selling a steel linered ALLOY barrel for the 600/650 motors, Surprised its not nicasil on alloy ,and it looks like the fixing holes are for through bolts??.Wonder if the follower tunnels are steel lined.
