Model 7 plunger mud guards hopefully coming soon

Forums

My Indian repo front and rear fenders are OK-ish but not entirely satisfactory for plunger Model 7. They lack the nice details on side of the fenders.

Managed to buy an eBay rear fender, chain guard unit in Oz recently.

It is now en route to Vintage Steel and from my conversations with them they are keen to use my parts as template for authentic plunger Model 7 fenders and hopefully chain guard as well. For anyone not aware Vintage Steel manufactures a wide range of very high quality tinware for mostly British bikes.  https://vintagesteelfenders.com

If someone could provide 'tip to tail' length of original front fender I would like to see if they could manufacture those as well?

Interesting the fender/chain guard I purchased are in original blue colour. From another Model 7 Group I was informed that 250 polychromatic blue Model 7 plungers were shipped exclusively to Oz.

I will update of progress of repro mud guards.

Hi Peter,

I'm in Melbourne so I can measure my Model 7 guards.  Send me an email with what measurements you need  and I can return the information.

When are the Wideline Rear mudguards going to be back in Stock

Kind Regards

Mike Page

Hello Ian,

Thanks for the offer.  I lent them my original rear mudguard I bought on eBay auction in WA so that is good.

I have provided Width, Depth and Length and profile would be same as rear mudguard. They need  to provide detailed measurements for the contour around the fork leg and mounting bracket.

If you can provide these details I will forward to my contact at Vintage Steel in WA.

Model 7 plunger rear mud guards are now available from Vintage Steel WA.

Regards, Peter

I have just disassembled my 1950 Model 7 as the engine and gearbox belong to a 1954 Model 88.

If possible we may be able to organise to post over my front guard to Vintage Steel for them to measure accurately and then they can post back to me when finished with.  It is a genuine front guard so I  can't afford to lose it!!

Ian
