Valve springs

Forums

Hi

on dismantling a 1958 dominator 99 cylinder head I’ve found some fibre washers under the spring bottom cups that do not show on the drawing I have just wondering if they should be there or has some one added to tension springs

Part Numbers - VALVE INSULATION WASHERS P/Ns - 067845

There are two thicknesses of these washers around. Depends on the valve springs .......standard or SS.

Peter did post that his bike was a Dominator Model 99.

Manxman 650 parts may be of interest to him and may fit but do not really answer his question.

I believe that it also depends on which cam you have. The standard Domi cam would use the 2" long springs but if you have an SS cam you would use the shorter type as fitted to 650s onwards.

I think that heat insulators would be fitted which ever cam you use. As to the shims as listed in the parts manual, I don't know what the loading should be on the springs.
