I ordered a decoke gasket set from the NOC shop but when I attempted to refit the cylinder head/rocker box assembly the rocker box would not drop low enough to engage the retaining nuts owing to the thickness of the lower pushrod tube washers. I had to re-use the original O-ring washers. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? Cheers George

i think the gasket set D256NOR has the deeper bottom washer seal. there is another set with the thinner one in it but i don't remember which one.i think you can buy them separately anyway.
i had some pushrod tubes off rgm they had o rings top and bottom great idea but on mine when everything was tightened up they would turn and as i have found if they do that they will leak. on refitting the tubes i left the top o ring on but on the bottom to replace the o ring i fitted an original deep washer seal but i took about 1mm off its height with my belt sander. put it all back together, spot on . i didn't want to buy another gasket set so the one with the thinner original rubber washer in may have done . or you could just fit a thicker/thinner o ring to suit .

Thanks Dan, Yes, tubes are the right way up. Baz, I don't have a belt sander but is it too much to expect that we buy the correct part from the NOC Shop and it should fit? Very disappointing. George

Hi GeorgeI had this problem and found that the bottom o rings were ok but the toprubber square rings were far to big as they come up against the shoulder on the top of the pushrod tube.I simply cut it down to allow the head to show a gap of about 3mm as you tighten the head down this will put pressure on the seal expand it on the tube and seal properly.mine have been good for sometime now. just to let you know there was a small steel washer type shim that fits on to the tube before the rubber.hope this helpsgeoff

Do you mean the "square" rubber washers? I know it's prob obvious but did you that the tubes the right way up? If they are upside down they don't fit?!
