The concentrics on my Dommie have viton tipped needles, and don't flood even with the fuel on for hours. But the 276 inverted arranged needle allows the chamber to overflow in minutes. I've tried and obviously failed to bed it in with metal polish, and even swapped to an alternative. Is there a viton tipped version of the needle for the earlier carbs? I'm tempted to turn a groove and add an o-ring. I wonder if that would work or might jam?
It's all right on the road when the engine is sucking fuel anyway. At least I think it is...

I'm sure there must be a proper engineering solution as you describe, but the nut below the float chamber is so inaccessible that I'm fed up with trying and obviously failing! One is brand new, so really should be OK out of the box. I suppose I'd better do as you say, as changing the design could cause more problems than it solves!

hello well my float needle works fine try fitting a new needle and for beding in try valve paste fine then engineers blue to see if you have got the needle to seat right your anna j
