Hi all
A friend of mine has a 1953 beart Manx . Frame number 1vory250691 and engine number fb.53.6 Sfm apparently not the original engine. According to my friend it is an ex Keith Campbell , what we need to know . Is there any documented evidence to prove this . Any help with the history for this would be great.
thank you all
Leigh

File safety
I do not see any fire sprinklers anywhere.......
I hope that these records are safely stored.
Is there any thought to having them microfilmed and/or stored electronically?

Yes, the club had a project…
Yes, the club had a project to put all of the factory records on to an Excel spreadsheet several years ago. I contributed 3000 entries to the project.
I don't know what happened to this or whether it was completed or not.

Am I missing something here?
Ian is asking about a Beart built machine.... how would that appear in the factory records held at the VMCC? Are thoses ID's similar to how FB marked his products? they seem a little more individual than Beart work.
Destroyed by fire or water from a sprinkler, neither would be good... Even worse by grease mits!
I also contributed to the VMCC data spreadsheet for 1951 records, never heard anything more. They are a great source of detailed information if you can decipher the handwriting.
Did I get out of bed the wrong side....

Just contact the VMCC headquarters/library at Burton on Trent and for a small fee they will search for info using the original factory Norton dispatch books. One used to be able to do this oneself but the system was abused and the books damaged.
