Recalls

Hi I have an SE built 2015 and would like to know what recalls have been sent out. As such I have had no recall notices and was advised that there at least three, ECU, throttle body and breather. Anyone have any information on this and is there any other recalls. As said I have not been contacted since bike purchase. Tony

Hi Tony As far as I am aware there have been no official recalls as some bikes suffer problems and others do not. If you have any specific problems i suggest that you ask the factory. However as the bike is now out of warranty you may have to ask nicely!!!!!!

I think recalls as such in the motor industry Is normally for safety related issues,Norton have changed one or two things regarding Servicing items, oil breather kits to eliminate wet dumping,a patch lead to stop neutral light flickering, different fuel maps for different exhaust systems, extra in line non return valve/ filter in oil lines ,basically take it back to norton or a dealer & get a service/mot and ask them to give it a once over

Sorry I should rephrase my post, what I should have said is what upgrades have been done. And it takes a long time to get a reply from the factory.

dont email them, just phone, email accounts change, call service dept and have a chat with them, Iâd rather go direct to them than a dealer, for servicing & mot s they are no dearer than a dealer & may carry out some things as a gesture, my one is a 2016 model completed 16,000 miles now ,there never in a hurry up there & appear laid back but thorough with the service on what needs to be done, leave it with them a few days & take a few days sight seeing

DVSA keep records of recalls, both the ones publicly released and the ones that are not. It is very easy to keep them from being publicly released, the manufacturer just have to tell DVSA that they can do it under servicing schedules, and lodge their intentions with DVSA which are given a serial number.

I have just had a FOI information request rejected for a car. They claimed that I could not have the information due to two clauses, one was for protection of persons prosecuted for a safety related defect and the other was for ongoing investigation which could lead to a prosecution - they told me the issue with my vehicle was not safety related in the same response, what total dimwits!! I challenged this finding as the clauses that they tried to hide behind would mean the defect is safety related, I won the appeal, and thus this is how I know how easy it is to keep them from being made public.

The dealers should have details of any which need doing, they may not disclose what they are exactly, but should be able to complete the work needed.
