Hi Jonathon
The champion 7 spark plug is suitable for side valve engines you need one a bit hotter for a ohv engine ,the best thing to do is fit an adaptor into the plug hole and fit a 14 mm spark plug these can be made from an old two piece spark plug drill out the centre and run a 14 mm tap through it i have done this on my es2 and now use a champion n5 plug

What's the advantage of going to all that trouble, Roger, over simply using an NGK B6ES?
Better performance?

Yep i like NGK plugs but still have the problem of much larger thread size in my cylinder head. A bit of me likes the originality

I have a "Book of the Norton" covering all models from 1932 and its states " On SV, OHV and camshaft models with 14mm plugs fit a Lodge H1 or H1P or KLG M80." It should be possible to cross reference these to find a Champion equivalent.
