Thank you Anthony, I believe you are quite correct but it was worth a try. I know that P11 pipes can be cut and welded to clear the oil and battery boxes, then rechromed. It would probably be cheaper to have them made from scratch, unless I can get hold of a tatty pair which is unlikely.

You may still be able to find a pair of those exhaust pipes on the American Ebay as I know of a friend of mine who found a pair. Thereare many companies that will make any type of exhaust pipes for you if you can take the bike to them and tell them what you require. Try Alldens Exhausts on 01673 862286 and their email is sales@tubeengineers.co.uk They are in Market Rasen in Lincs. They can make any exhaust system in stainless steel. The mobile number is 07595 448713.

These type of exhaust pipes used to be made in Norton America and the 1963 Norton Atlas Scrambler that was ridden by Mike Patrick to win the cross country championship in 1964 in the Mohave Desert had a pair fitted to this bike. I suspect if you wanted a set of those high pipes or the P11 type high pipes then you may have to go to a companythat makes one off exhaust pipes. These were the one piece exhaust pipes that were similar to the type used on the 1959-60 BSA Spitfire Scramblers.
