Points opening on the K2F? I want to get the opening point with my multimeter.
I'm sure I have done this in the past on a B25 motor but where ever I attach the clips I get a continuous circuit?
Now whats app.

For some reason I can't block and copy the address, but if you do a search of the Access Norton site tfor magneto timing here is a post by Texas Slick that starts out discussing how to get the points cam to be even and then then uses an illustration to show how to use a meter to determine when the points break. You have to remove the center bolt that locates the points plate.

It will be fag paper for now so I can get back on the road ASAP.
I am running with a manual K2F so if I get it a bit too far advanced I will find the sweet spot, fix the lever and strip it for a reset.

Yes, if you don't remove the centre bolt the difference in resistance is negligible.
I also use a bit of kitchen foil rather than fag paper for checking points opening point as it's stronger. It's generally .001" thick.

Hello well for a start off you need everything in the right place like valves closed and on compressiontime from the left-hand side which is called the drive side and by then with the ATD in full advance and the sleeve bolt slaked off the points should looking upward at 9 o'clock and the heal of the cam should at around 5 o'clock to find braking point you need a 9v battery 4 crock clips wire and a light bulb or a DMM on buzzer the mag point should be isolated with a fiber washer on the underside so it only makes its spark when it makes contact with the other half of its point contacts which are earthed to the other side of the mag windings via the condenser yours anna j

You might see a change in resistance but you won't see a total break as you would with coil and contact breaker ignition. I'd say stick to the old fag paper gap (I use kitchen foil) to identify where it starts to open.
