Rigid Frame

Forums

Hello,
I have a rigid frame that has been converted to a plunger.
I would like to have the rigid rear end back.
Somebody told me that there is a supplier in England that offers rigid rear ends.
Can anyone help me with this, perhaps with an address?

Thanks
Greetings  Oliver

Hi Oliver,

Ian Bennett's brother Andrew used to make replica rigid frames. Try emailing Ian on bennettcnc@yahoo.co.uk. They are based in Stourbridge in the Midlands.

Bennett's or Ian Bain may well provide what your looking for but as engineering companies they will have to cover their overheads and employee costs.  Depending on your abilities or contacts you may be better off  buying a secondhand rigid and salvage what you need. Pugh's auctions Ledbury had a few last sale. Various prices but cheap enough.

What year and model is your frame? There's a load of differences in the rigid frames from the 20s through the 30s and beyond.

I suspect my frame is from 1945, the year letter is missing. Now I have noticed that the frame is bent and damaged.
I am actually looking for a chassis for my early CJ1 engine.
Because I live in Germany, it is more difficult to find such parts here.
Offers for sale are welcome. It should be a closed and rigid frame; the year of manufacture does not matter.

I have a rigid 1949 cradle frame and a 1929 CJ frame potentially available.
I've messaged you.

Hello Steve,
I sent you an email two days ago. Did you not receive it?

... has a rebuilt international rolling chassis of 37 spec. Won't be cheap but would be ideal for the CJ motor.  With the reduction in prices recently he may have just what you need. May well be interested in your bent plunger frame for other projects.
