Having just acquired the in a reasonable state the little machine is a bit of a joy to work with an  needs little to improve it other than the paintwork. Generally finished in black but with a silver  tank and mudguards.  Its clearly been refinishes in the past but was this standard combination.

Want to refinish it in a standard color but unsure of what was offered. The black and cream seems a popular choice but seems a bit too flash for a baby thumper.

 Any help gratefully  received.

Cheers

Thanks Andy,  good starting point for reference to standard fitment and two tone delineation.  I was hoping to do.a single colour respray but it seems many of the few made were two tone. The  silver it is in now looks the same as my 650ss  Thanks also to Neil Wyatt for colour references.

Cheers

Hello Jon

I have just restored a 1961 ES2 it was a faded Forest Green  & Cream

but i wanted something different  so i have done it  ( I AM GOING TO SWEAR NOW )

NISSAN PLATINUM GRAPHITE   ( GUNMETAL ) but i like it the chrome realy stands out .

I also have a Wideline  that is black and silver that looks good on a slimline.

Very nice machines.  Yes you are right the gunmetal grey sets off the machine beautifully.

I also like the wide line in that coloring but thought to do similar scheme a little lighter silver for the tank.

Thanks Alan, you got a good eye.

Best regards

Jon

Hello Jon

My wideline is done in  Ford Moondust  a bit lighter than Silver Fox .

I was going to do my slimline with a  gunmetal tank and chrome mudguards but did not trust the quality of the imported ones but i ended up paying £260.00 for a pair of good original used ones at Stafford show   ALLAN BROOKS    ( DURHAM )
