Has anyone got any experience of the cNw electric start we see advertised in Roadholder? I was considering an Alton, but the cNw incorporates a belt drive, which is an advantage to me, and I would need to bin my 3 phase alternator if I went for an Alton.
Can't comment on the CnW…

cnw electric start
now had mine on 850 two years, Fantastic bit of kit comes with all seals nuts & washers needed.
Just bolted on with no hacking or sawing like the other make (purchased and returned for refund)
I also fitted barnett clutch plate set and a shorai battery. lots of money but in my view worth every penny.
Mick.

Thanks for your replies John…
Thanks for your replies John and Mick. Both positive for cNw so I think that's the way I'll be going.
And thanks for the heads-up on the import duty - that's going to hurt a bit!
Cheers,
Dave

Puzzled by the comment above…
Puzzled by the comment above. I fitted an Alton starter to my Mk2 850 and it didn't involve hacking or sawing, whereas I thought that the CNW did (air filter/battery area?). Everything that needed doing to fit the Alton was reversible without needing any replacement parts.

Can't comment on the CnW electric start but have bought a quite few parts from CnW and have to say the quality is 1st Class...everything fits perfectly. Watch out for the import tax.
