Hi all,
On my '74 Interpol project the previous owner / restorer has put the grease nipple on the wrong side of the swinging arm.
So the nipple is currently on the left hand side, which means I can't fit the inner primary cover as it hits on the nipple.
My question is - how do I remove the end plates to swap them over?
Thanks - Paul.

John, OK thanks - that…
John,
OK thanks - that sounds easy - I thought they would be a push fit and therefore difficult to remove from the ends of the swinging arm.
Thanks - Paul.

Isn't the 2A a push fit?
.... at least that's how I remember mine. If so, you need to drill a small hole and use a self-tapper to ease the plate out.
But it's a long time ago so my memory is hazy.

Easy job
With the caveat that not all Mk2As are necessarily equal, the plates on my Mk2A's swinging arm drop off when the bolt breaks – I mean, comes undone. DAMHIK. Putting the new bolt through was easy the one time I did it. Just be very gentle with it. Sorry if I'm saying stuff you already know.

On the nipple side plate in the centre should be a small headed bolt, unscrew it and pull it out (it's the lengthy of the shaft), both plates should now be free and you can swap them around. When you insert the bolt from the correct side good luck getting it to engage with the plate on the opposite side so be patient.
