Navigator timing

Interestingly, I've got the 'Twin Cylinder Manual' covering both lightweight and heavyweight twins and exactly the same info for the Navigator is given there, but that still doesn't make it right, especially so as the section that actually deals with setting the gaps refers to 'all lightweight twins' and says inlet 4 thou, exhaust 6 thou (still not quite right for the Electra though) and, oddly enough, the section dealing with setting the timing, again referring to 'all lightweight twins', talks about 30 deg advanced and 8 deg static, which applies to the Electra, but not t'other two which, as you're aware, should be 32 deg and 10 deg.

Seems that Norton Villiers Limited were about as good at proof-reading as they were at building Japanese-beating motorcycles!

24 degrees BTDC fully advanced is the correct figure for the Navigator ignition timing.

inlet 4 thou (0.004")

exhaust 6 thou (0.006")

BTW - Jubilee = 32 deg BTDC fully advanced

and Electra = 30 deg BTDC fully advanced.
