Hello Members if you need to know when your featherbed Nortonwas built you can find this out by the date stamp marking on the small top lug next to the head-stock, where you bolt you head steadyfrom you mat need to remove some paint to find its in small numbers stamp markings like my Norton 650 is 12/60/M for Manxman and my 1954 dominator is 6/54/D for dominator but this is no Bracebridgestreet machines I have no idea how Plumstead or Andover works did there dating yours anna j Dixon

Thats as I understood it Mikael. Its a frame manufacture date as opposed to a Machine manufacture date.

Can anyone post up a photograph of an example of this? I have had a pretty close look at mine, and can't see it. As Anna mentioned, it may be filled in with paint, or possibly even removed by previous over-zealous sandblasting.

Had some trouble taking a photo. Best I could do today. You can see numbers on top of lug. Also checked on a -68 frame, found nothing.
