What a difference

I managed to get my 500 mile service done at the factory last Wednesday. I had the short pipes put on, with associated map, but forgot to ask for the decat - maybe on the next service? All the staff at Donington were excellent and I was impressed that both Rob Jameson and Clem Croft went out of their way to come and speak to me as I waited in the grounds of the hall for the service to be completed (there really is nowhere else to go..) At least I was entertained by John McGuinness and his son playing with go carts around the grounds.

The journey up to Donington, and back, was uneventful and gave me another 290 miles towards the recommended 1000 for running in (now at 940). The bike does feel very different, more responsive, better handling and much better low speed manners. I thought that the comments posted on here and AN about the transformation were written through the lens of Norton issue rose coloured specs - but I was very pleasantly surprised to be wrong - the bike is now a real pleasure to ride and I am glad i have stuck with it.
