Hi, I have an early 20M Commando where the centre stand is mounted on a frame tube rather than the later engine plate mount. I find it increasingly difficult in fact nigh impossible to pull the bike onto the stand which is in about the 4 o' clock position means the bike has to be lifted to get over the fulcrum. Has anyone found a solution to improve this. It has standard suspension fitted measuring 13'' centre to centre. I don't want to fit longer units as that would make the bike to tall for me to ride. Is there a way of shortening the stand tho with it being pyramid shape that may not be possible. I have fitted a brand new stand but it has not made any difference.

dear Andy,
know your problem as I have one with18" rear wheel. Answer is a piece of wood in my case about 12" x 8" x 1" thick, place behind rear wheel, roll bike backwards till raised then deploy centre stand. Makes all the difference between impossible and possible
