This depends.....
These warning lights-the results that you are getting depend on the wiring in the first place, if you get in touch directly with details of which bike you have then I should be able to advise. One of the biggest issue here is is it original (50yr old) wiring, has it been replaced? has it been changed?
One point to mention with regard to the Indicator warning light, The original Commando circuit was the same for most vehicles around in that time. The warning light is strapped between both of the 'live' feed to the lamps. Hence the warning lamp uses the other side (OFF SIDE) as an earth for the lamp. Fiddling-earthing-re-connection any were in this circuit could cause many strange faults!

Warning Lights
There was a fault with interference on the cable to the lights - a patch cable fix was supplied - contact Stuart Bodycote for a solution (suggest texting him)

I do believe a failure of a warning lamp in a console or dash of a vehicle is now an MOT failure.

MoT requirements
You do not necessarily need an indicator tell-tale; see https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1989/1796/made [Schedule 7, Part I]
11. Tell-tale–
(a) One or more indicators on each side of a vehicle to which indicators are fitted shall be so designed and fitted that the driver when in his seat can readily be aware when it is in operation; or
(b) The vehicle shall be equipped with an operational tell-tale for front and rear indicators (including any rear indicator on the rearmost of any trailers drawn by the vehicle).
Assuming (a) to be the case, it seems a moot point as to whether the failure of any tell-tale that may be fitted is grounds for MoT failure.
Elsewhere in this document there are some interesting diagrams and text on the required angles of visibility of indicator lights.
I'm directly interested in this point, since my Fastback is fitted with MZ indicators, in which the front lenses are equipped with ears to make operation clear (also MZ switchgear … ), but I retained the tell-tale in the headlamp.

I get funny idiot light errors showing when switching to high beam - as well as the high beam warning light showing a couple of other warning lights also come on. Have just been ignoring this.
MOT tester very unlikely to even notice warning light anomalies , let alone contemplate giving an advisory. Mine’s got through seven MOTs now without problem.
