1948 ES2 voltage regulator bracket

Forums

Hi everyone its me again. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue with a new voltage regulator. The new one I have got which was from the vintage motorcycle club seems to be larger than the original it is replacing. Which means that the bolt holes don't line up. I am currently only able to hold it in place with one bolt. The problem with the bracket is that it is held in place by being bolted to the mudguard and at the other end bolts to the oil tank. So these two bolt holes need to lineup. Not sure what that best solution is for this any help or advice would be very welcomed.

Thank you Jonathan

Hi Jonathan

Most of the replacment control boxes are not very good quality the original ones were,t much better there are several type of electronic one available which you can fit inside the original one or put it inside the tool box

Hi Jonathan, I will go along with what Roger has said, but since you have already purchased a replacement box, why not make a longer mounting bracket (strip) which you can bolt to the two original existing holes on your bike, then mount the new box onto it.

I have gutted out the original regulator box's and fitted inside the modern electronic DVR2, they work very well and I believe made in U.K.

Cheers, Paul

Hi guys thank you very much for the advice on this issue. I like the idea of an electronic one, it must be far more accurate. Thanks for your time and advise on this!
