Can anyone give me the correct thickness of the top and bottom spacers that are fitted against the LHS front engine plate to allow a side stand to be fitted to the two crankcase bolts.
They are shown in the 1950 Singles parts book on page 65, Plate W, items 35 and 36.
The original part numbers are 14828 (Item W36' bottom spacer) and 14999 (Item W35, Top spacer).
thanks

Hi Ian - The spacers on my 1950 ES2 measure 1/2 inch for the top and 3/8 inch for the bottom - I don’t know if they are original.
That being said I never use the side stand - I don’t trust it.

Thank you Leon for your post. Good karma has prevailed and thanks to Richard as well. Patience surely is a virtue. He has been able to detail what I thought but couldn't confirm.

1952 side stand
Even with the spacers I found that the side stand is very unsafe. On dead level ground the bike leans too far because the leg length is short. Not sure if its the correct part, it came with the bike.
I fabricated a plate and attached the side stand lower than the front engine plate. I know its not original but at least its a safe option.

Leon:
Bad karma for hijacking Ian's posting instead of starting a new one.
