Esso synergy plus

I have just read that Greenergy  has taken over the supply of fuels to Esso in the south of England. What does this mean for our E0   thats currently marked E5  ??.  Anyone got any contacts ??.

Esso are currently selling  EO  ( marked as EO5 ) in some  areas  of the south  .  In the north they have been selling  Greenergy  fuels for some time. Now that Greenergy will be their sole supplier  I can't imagine there won't be changes. Will we be able to find out if its still possible to get EO ?.

Surely there's a Trades Description issue here?  If I buy any other product and it is incorrectly labelled, the retailer is breaking the law.  If I see Esso at the point of sale  I don't expect to be filling up with something else, no matter how convenient it is for the supplier.

As I understand it, Greenenergy are a wholesale supplier of Esso Fuels to forecourts, Therefore nothing changes

It is the same fuel from the same refiner, Esso..

David, I challenged this point many years ago.

The answer came back that anything below 5% but not above could be classed as E5 in E0.

Political confusion.as intended.

The young man at the Dunnington ESSO station  (On the A1079) is very enlightened and told me that their E0 contained...0.001 % Ethanol. No doubt from rubbish left in the tank.

There is GR8 demand for E0 so why take it away?   Freedom of choice.

Perhaps I have not made my point very clear . Greenergy seem to have been supplying  fuel E5  in the Northern parts  But there is no information that they have been supplying  any EO fuel. at all. Now they are taking over the Southern areas .Seems likely that they will supply the same fuels everywhere , in other words possibly    no     EO .   I dont think we will be able to assume that what we are buying has not changed.     Have to think about draining carbs and tanks ,something I have not done with EO , and no issues with anything including Mowers /strimmers etc.

Think it might be a question better positioned towards the vendor. Their distribution network may not have changed, just the ownership.

To clarify, Esso petrol is, in part transported to filling stations by Greenenergy who have been doing this for Esso for some years. The agreement has been extended to cover a larger area of England but is still Esso petrol refined by Esso, it just is not their tankers carring it.

Don't worry.

I should have mentioned that the Red label Synergy comes from Middlesborough (Teesside) delivered the Dunnington (A1079) Esso.  Perhaps this accounts for the tiny bit of contamination, not enough to do any damage in my opinion.

Like cash, use it or lose it.......

No petrol has ethanol in it until it is added at the distribution point. Bit like covering mince pies with sugar when they were fine as they were....

… they turned that sugar into alcohol !!
