The right 930 carb on my Atlas is leaking and will be disassembled for inspection. Is there a clear way of measuring the float height adjustment?

Viton Tipped, Yes
Yes they are viton-tipped and I was thinking of replacing them since the rubber tip has a very slight impression. I tried buying these before and they were too long, is 622/197 the correct part number for these?

Drain plug came in 1970
There is ways of replacing the drain plug with one fitted with a clear plastic tube along the side of the carb. Then actual fuel level can be read. Sorry, don't have any picture of it. AMALs with stay up floats need float height adjustment. How to is described on the Burlen website.One mistake I've made was to push on the needle. You have to push on the metal tang of the float. There are people on the internet that have had problems with gaskets obstructing float movement.

I am looking for the Amal specs for measuring the float height using 1) fuel and 2) measuring from the top of the float bowl to the top of the float.

Setting The Float Level
The float levels were set to .080" below the float bowl, the bowl was filled with gas with a clear tube on the side of the carb, and this shows that the the fuel level is about 1/4" below the .210" mark. It looks like the floats need to be re-adjusted so that the level in the clear tube comes closer to the .210" mark.
Should the carbs be vertical when doing this check?

Before measuring anything - the original nylon plastic ones leak if left long enough. Do you have the modern Viton tipped float needle, which don't leak?
