THANK YOU

To all on the forum for the questions and answers.  Whilst we all benefit from the answers from our wise and experienced contributors, some of the questions raise issues we might not have thought about or had pondered over and never felt comfortable asking.  Over the years I have been involved with singles, twins, sports, tourers and off road.  By far my riding has been mainly on twins and my workshop entertainment on singles, particularly OHC.

Therefore in particular  I would like to thank Richard Cornish, Richard Payne, Robert Tuck, John Holmes and of course Al Osborn for their valuable knowledge, experience and wit when it comes to keeping my old machines running.

Thanks to you all, especially these last two years, sanity prevails within our community!  The virus contributed to my current driving ban which is a severe penalty for someone who has been licensed for more than 50 years. I look forward to spring, new licence and better climate to restart my motorcycle journey.

I am currently labelled the designated drinker…

Have a great Christmas, I will!!!

Hi Jon,

'The virus' is a bit like environmentalists saying 'The planet' when there are lots in both cases. Is there a link?

Anyway, I hope you get your licence back soon, if not under millions of other applications waiting for ever in Swansea.  Say no more...

There is no substitute for experience and the forum is a great place to tap into that. Even better now that the Webmaster is not in a hurry to delete valid posts. Well done him.

Seasons falicitations to all and thank you for the answers to my questions.

Hi Jon/all,

Thanks for your kind words, but often behind the advice is a trail of mistakes, you just hope you learn from them. I have been stopped a couple of times and have been lucky so far, but it's a fine line, especially when you think of how many un-detected drug addicts are driving around. Have a good Christmas and onwards and upwards for 2022.

…it was totting up of speeding offences; 3 activations of a camera I pass twice a day everyday.  Only change of situation was it was during height of covid lockdown with little to no traffic on the road.  I’ve only turned to drink since I cannot drive .  Haha!

 Seasons greetings Richard!

Cheers, Jonathan...as the other Richard mentioned, there can be an awful lot of learning the hard way behind any advice...I was once an expert on losing licences too, but now I live in a country that doesn't have a points system....

There's no way back now...For a number of reasons, it feels a lot further away though than it did in 2019.
