Model 7 anti wet sumping valve

Forums

Hi all. Has anyone been able to fit an anti wet sumping valve to their plunger framed model 7 (or otherwise been able to stop the oil draining into the crankcase ?

There is so little room between the oil tank feed outlet and the rigid pipe that connects to the crankcase that I cant see a way of fitting one - and I'm fed up of draining the oil from the crankcase and putting it back in the tank before I can ride the bike ! I know the simple answer is to use the bike more frequently but it has to take its turn with my other bikes.

I fitted a Feked valve in the short distance between the tank and the banjo intake tube.

I posted a pic of this 5 days ago in this forum. The RGM filter is supposed to fit all post-war Nortons

"I was initially pleased with the quality, but I soon realised that there was no space in a Dominator to fit it in using the two 3/8" BSP spigotted adaptors supplied.

The way I got round it was to use an RGM universal filter R2/392, which has a female 1/2" 20TPI tapping (£26.28 incl), and a stainless 1/2" UNF to 3/8" BSP adapter from eBay. About £100 all-in."

Thanks for your reply Steve. I've had a look at the picture you posted and unfortunately I dont have anything like as much room to play with as you did on your bike so that arrangement wouldnt fit. Thanks anyway.
