Can anyone please confirm the design bore at the big end of the conrod (without shells) on a 500cc dominator in an untorqued state? Mine seem to be oval with a ~10thou larger dimension top to bottom than side to side.

Thanks Niall. Both rods are circular at 1.482" when torqued up. I was getting ahead of myself and assumed I had a problem due to the extent of ovality., Amazed at the change in dimension top to bottom with 15lbft torque!!

Two questions, by all means tell me to do one, firstly are the rod and cap actually a pair?,and secondly "un-torqued" implies that you did not have the bolts torqued up when you measured them, that won't work, they are designed to be round in service conditions, and should be, they were machined that way.
Put the (old) bolts in, torque them up and measure them again, if they are still oval, you have a problem.
