Jubilee silencer hangers

Forums

Ordered new big kink hanger for the right side. Parts sent me a new hanger but this was the same size as both my existing hangers. Sent it back and eventually received a replacement which was the same size as the one I returned. When I  fitted the new bracket to the silencer there was a gap of about 15mm between the bracket  and where it connects to the frame. I can make it fit but it makes the silencer to splay out to the right. Does anyone know the kink offset size.

Small kink bracket part No. 22464.  Big kink bracket part No. 21159.

1) What year bike have you?

2) What silencers are you trying to fit?

There are two types of silencer - the earlier version has been called 'cigar-shaped', has a seam along the bottom & is handed Left & Right. Ordinarily, the brackets for this type have all their holes in line, so the bracket hangs down.

The later silencer is cylindrical & the same both sides. Normally, the brackets for this type are handed left & right - holes not in line - and they lean rearwards when mounted.

A (much used) later silencer shown off my own 1964 Navigator - with the later bracket (holes not in line, leaning backwards (from the footpeg mount).

The ones above are the later types - attached are the earlier version, with slotted holes for silencer mounting to allow for alignment - one with a larger kink.

If you were sent the same part for both, then sadly Neil has made an error. I have a drawing here, will show later when I find it.

Hi Andy

My silencers are the old type, 1959. The offset on the hanger Neil sent is 17.5mm.

Thanks

John.

22464 = 0.5" offset

21159 = 0.75" offset

That is top edge to top edge (not including thickness of material)

Hope that helps

Thanks Andy for the the offset sizes.

Ive purchased a 300mm flat bar from Ebay which is the same width and thickness as the existing hanger. Will make new bracket next week.
