Hi,
This is a bit of a silly question I think but can find no clues in various Norton publications. I’m nearing completion of the rebuild of a ‘71 Fastback, bought completely dismantled and can’t quite work out how the forward end of the tail piece is assembled relative to the seat. Does one of the large dished washers sit on the inside of the fairing, then the seat bracket outside of that, then the next dished washer? Or some other way?
Many thanks,
Phil
Hi David, thanks for that,…

Pull the shock bolt out.
lay 3/8 flat washer of correct thickness against shock plate behind FB tail tab.
shove bolt back in through FB tab, 3/8 washer. frame plate, shock.
put back inside washer and nut for shock
now inny dish washer, next seat ear, outty dish washer, aluminum knob
