The only list that I've ever seen was a post-war one published by Britax and it doesn't seem correct. LIfe is complicated by the fact that the 'correct' way to measure a speedo cable is apparently from the top of the cable but only to the lower flange - i.e. not including the nut.

I can confirm that the cable for the centre-mounted speedo is 25" and it therefore seems likely that the offset bracket, directly above the drive would require a shorter cable. Increments always seem to have been 1" so 24" would be a good starting point.

JJ cables is very good (and probably has a note of the lengths)...but if your bike is complete, it's straightforward to take a length of old cable and offer it up to measure the length used between top of the drive box and back of the stub on the instrument...and then make a sketch to show the supplier what you require.

Girders don't of course require any allowance for suspension movement. If anyone tries to sell you 26" or 27" then it's almost certainly taken from the 1950s Britax catalogue and will be too long - It may be that they were including both nuts in the length, but even so, it's difficult to work out where they got their lengths from.
