Rebuilding my Norton 19s is there a gasket on timing gear side

.... between the timing cover and the crankcase? If so the answer is no. I use Wellseal.

hello  yes the best sealant you can use on a Norton is Stag wellseal  and you can by this in 500ml tins or 80ml tubes  please use a artists brush to apply evenly  and remove any overruns  asp  and do keep everything as clean as you can in the process, and Love your Model 19S a great Norton motorcycles   Yours  Anna J

use a thin paper gasket with welseal,check the alloy for niks and damage first.

I make my own gasket....

If it’s like my ES2 or M50 they don’t have a gasket,  just wellseal. remember there is clearance for the fibre washer to the oil pump, which you want make sure still gives a good seal.
