Hiya,
Okay so I’ve got my new tyres for the old bike. Turns out the one on the rear, they stopped making in the early eighties, so definitely time to renew!
As I’m changing the tyres, I plan to service the brakes at the same time, so where can I source replacement brake pads please? I’ve been on the RGM website but cannot see any there?
Many thanks.

Hello Colin, Thanks for the…
Hello Colin,
Thanks for the info. I’ve just phoned Saftec and been advised that to replace both front and back linings will be a set rate charge of £52.00 with a turnaround of approx. 3 days. Sounds like a bargain! So I’ll probably do that.
Thank you.

Try...
.. Villiers Services. I've used them several times with excellent results. They'll fit high friction linings if you ask them - I have these on my ES2 and the brakes are fime.
And cheaper than Saftek at £21.95 per brake (although has gone up recently).....

Worn Out ?
Are the existing linings worn out ? If they're the original woven asbestos type then they give a powerful retarding effect without the harshness of modern friction material.
If your shoes are original, you'll find that only one has the cutout for the speedo drive gear so make sure it goes back in the correct place. Later (wartime onwards) shoes had all had the cutout so were interchangeable.

The brake shoes are listed if you use the search function.
Alternatively you could get the original shoes relined.
Saftec do an excellent and quick service with a choice of modern linings. I have used them on my pre war bikes and really rate them.
