Wiring loom routing

Forums

Hi. I’m building my own wiring loom as my Dommie 99 project’s electrics are a bit different to ‘normal’. The bike didn’t have a wiring loom when I bought it so I’m not sure where it’s supposed to be fitted. I’m most in sure about the loom routing along the frame to the headlight. I’m assuming that it runs under/ to the side of the top frame tube but does it then run under the cross tube containing the petrol tank mounts or over the top of that cross tube? I’m assuming that it then sits in the gap between the petrol tank and the headstock and runs up into the headlight - is that right?

Any advice and photos would be much appreciated.

Regards

Tony

Have you got the right colour wires? and right connectors? We do NOT use Red and Blue ones. I can supply a wiring kit with the right bits.

As far as the correct route for wires is concerned as long as they do not show unnecessarily and do not get into trouble like rubbing through on the petrol tank, being flattened by the tank or getting chewed up by the rear chain they will be ok. Of course if you are fitting a 'standard' loom and you find a 'new' route then you will probably be short of cable at the next stop.
